Response to the Crisis in the Ukraine

The World Federation of Music Therapy Global Crisis Intervention Commission (WFMT-GCIC) – link to learn about the commission here – are undertaking activities and initiatives in response to the crisis in Ukraine. The first is a Webinar panel offering technical guidance on how to work with war refugees. This will take place on March 12th, 3pm GMT. This may be of interest to NZRMThs working with the Ukranian community or other refugees here in New Zealand Aotearoa. Further details to follow.

The second initiative is a Music instrument donation drive to send pre-loved instruments (in good condition) to refugee camps in Poland and Lithuania organized by music therapists. Please get in touch with us, the MThNZ Aotearoa Crisis Intervention Special Interest Group (ACI-SIG) via email: aci_admin@musictherapy.org.nz if you have instruments you might want to donate, and regarding any further ways we may be able to offer support.
