Kathryn Stevenson, MA, RMTh, has worked in the disability sector since 1981 in the U.S.A, Australia and New Zealand, including 24 years as a Registered Music Therapist, A good portion of her work has included a wide age range of people on the autism spectrum, as well as those who are vision impaired. Kathryn holds a Masters qualification in music therapy which she gained at Montclair State University, New Jersey, U.S.A. She currently works predominantly in private practice in Ellerslie.
Kathryn is an approved ACC sensitive claims provider.

Kathryn is a full member of MThNZ (since 1981) and has served on both local and national committees/councils. Her roles have included Auckland president, regional coordinator, and secretary. Nationally, member ETPP, and council.

Finding ways to communicate to those with disabilities has always interested me, combined with a desire to use music in my work lead to music therapy. Seeing positive responses to the planned use of music in a therapeutic setting is both exciting and rewarding.”
