The conference theme of ‘Playing in tune – working collaboratively in music therapy’ echoes soundly in the following collection. It illustrates the creative and varied ways in which music therapists work in New Zealand, with a strong emphasis on working within teams systemically, clinically and on organisational levels.

 

The collection features the opening and major addresses given at conference. The first by Professor Garry Hornby from the College of Education, University of Canterbury and the second by Dr Daphne Rickson from NZSM, Music Therapy Department.

 

In most cases the collection includes a copy of the PowerPoint presentation shared by each presenter/s. In others, a narrative has been provided to give greater detail on the topic.

 

Notes from Conference will be of interest to a varied audience. Firstly as a useful reference for conference delegates to reflect on particular aspects of conference and also for other music therapists, health and education professionals and those wanting to learn more about the use of music therapy in New Zealand.
