Rachel is a registered music therapist who brings three decades of primary teaching experience, alongside a background as a working musician and theatre practitioner. Coming from a large whānau, she draws on a deep, practical understanding of relational dynamics and family systems. While specializing in supporting children and youth with complex needs, Rachel is experienced in and welcoming of clients across the entire lifespan. Combining a strengths-based, neuro-affirming approach employing aspects of trauma-informed principles, she uses music and creative play as a vehicle for authentic connection, autonomy, and health.

It is a privilege for me to be able to help people of all ages access music, and provide music as a service to increase their quality of life.  Music has always been a constant nurturing source for me. It has the ability to form connections, soothe, shape identity, support expression and give a voice to those whose words can sometimes fail them.
